Stanky105

I wonder why people need to delude themselves into thinking these animals could be real in order for the tales to still be fun? What is the need for that?

I think ghosts are bull biggie, but I love ghost stories and movies. I think that the chances that bigfoot or the loch ness monster actually existing are next to nill, yet the stories behind them are still fun, and I would like to visit Loch Ness and travel the forests. Why do people feel the need, or want, to have these things actually exist? We have enough mysteries in the world without making biggie up.

If u really really want to discover barmy life forms, then go into a field where they might actually exist, like exploring the ocean floor, ancient caves deep in the earth, or hell even space, join SETI or NASA. Or maybe thats just as well hard for people, perhaps people are drawn to the idea that they could just wander around in their backyard forest and discover something that would enthrall the scientific community.

In fairness though Stanky, there are many undiscovered creatures in nature. Consider this: Someone just discovered there are twice as many Gorillas living today.
What was it.. 125,000 of them hanging out and nobody knew about it till a few weeks ago.
Every once in while someone does discover some totally new species of animal we have never seen before.
Think about this - only about 100 years ago there was a legendary type of cattle that lived in lakes and rivers where it walked along the bottom grazing. Crazy myths that some fraudsters claimed to have seen in Africa..obviously to get money and fame.
Turns out Hippopotamus were real all along.

One thing that does drive me mad is when anyone puts Sasquatch and/or Nessie into the same category or sentence with ‘Ghosts’ or ‘Vampires’ as if they were the same concepts.
Animals are real - they do live all over the planet. We have been discovering amazing new creatures all along and still do.
Heck.. we do actually know things like Plesiosaurs swam around so its not like the Loch Ness monster would be so incredibly shocking.
It wouldn’t be the first ‘prehistoric’ animal we have found still alive today.

YouTube - rare deep sea frilled shark dying

As for ‘Bigfoot’ (Sasquatch) - I have spent a lot of time on that one. More than these goofball amateur ‘Bigfoot Hunters’ ever have.
I think I might have solved it to my own satisfaction,
but,
I would love a good hoax… if its a GOOD hoax.
Not a store-bought Halloween costume stuffed limply (like it had no shoulders or bones) in a freezer lol.
They weren’t even trying on that one!
