60 Minutes covers the "Stop Snitching" campaign

I can agree on some points, but over all 60 mins went about it biggierly. Snitching is more complex than not telling the police information about a crime. For example, A person commits a crime, and he/she takes responsibly for that crime. If that person takes responsibility for the crime than why drag ur friends down with u? What is there to gain? You get ur friends in trouble including urself, and in the process may loss some people who may have been there for u.
In a sense it defines wut type of person u are. A great leader is one who takes responsibility for his/her actions, and the ones under his/her command. If a leader throws everyone in the fire when there is trouble than he/she will find him/herself very alone. In this case it’s called a person with character and integrity.
On the flip side wut if I know a person is a sicko child killer? I would sure as biggie turn his/her arse in.
Also, wut if ur friend turns into some criminal? I believe this is were the gray area exists.
The focus seems to be on inner city uths, but these kids have to consider their own survival. Sure a criminal may get caught, but the police may find another body of this kid when a criminals friend pays a visit to the prison.
As u can see there are times not to snitch, times to snitch, and times were it’s a tough choice. I am sure 60 mins can come up with 1000 " wut IF questions", but in the end it comes down to wut position a person is put into.
definetly agree with u on this. when i think of snitching it has nothing to do with a known murderer not being turned in. when i think of a snitch it is a drug dealer who gets arrested and then fingers a bunch of other criminals to get himself a lesser sentence.
I know alot of u dont like rap but u should watch this internet media and actually listen to the lyrics to get a better understanding on wut the black community considers to be a
Snitch
